NSW OC practice tests help Year 4 students become familiar with the pace, question styles and concentration required for the Opportunity Class Placement Test. Opportunity Class Thinking Skills questions assess general critical thinking and problem solving, and the official test does not require previous topic knowledge. Our Thinking Skills practice tests let students work through varied reasoning problems and then use explanations to understand the approach.

About the practice tests
What does OC mean in NSW?
OC stands for Opportunity Class. In NSW, Opportunity Classes are for high-potential and gifted students in Years 5 and 6, with students sitting the placement test while they are in Year 4.
Are these official NSW Opportunity Class questions?
No. Selective Journey is an independent online practice platform and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NSW Department of Education. The department provides its own official sample materials, while our platform provides independently developed practice questions.
Which subjects are in the NSW OC placement test?
The NSW Opportunity Class Placement Test includes Reading, Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills. All three sections are multiple-choice and are completed on a computer.
Can an OC practice test be attempted again?
Yes. Completed tests can be retried. The first attempt is retained for rankings and average-score comparisons so later practice does not distort the original result.
